Beds done, and the rest of the yard we look after
Mulch installation is the fastest change you can make to a yard. Fresh beds, cut edges, and a property that reads as looked-after from the street — usually in a single morning.

Brown, black or mini nugget cypress, spread to a proper two to three inch depth. A yard covers roughly a hundred square feet of bed, so most houses land somewhere between three and eighteen yards, and we work it out with you before anything is ordered.
Pine straw, by the bale.
Straw covers more ground per dollar than mulch, which is why maintenance customers refresh with it every spring. If you’ve already bought it, we’ll spread it.
The prep is the difference.
Before anything goes down we weed the beds, cut back what’s dead, and re-cut the bed lines. Mulch over a weedy bed looks good for three weeks. Mulch over a prepped bed looks good until the next season.

Black metal edge with anchor stakes holds a bed line that would otherwise blur back into the lawn by August. It’s worth doing once, at the same visit, rather than re-cutting the same edge every year.
Plants and colour.
Beds are also the moment to add shrubs or seasonal flowers — hydrangea, knockout rose, encore azalea and boxwood are our common palette. It’s an add-on to a mulch job, not a job of its own.
When to do it.
Most beds want refreshing twice: once in early spring before anything leafs out and the weeds get going, and once in the fall after leaf drop. Spring is the one that matters if you only do one. Book it before April — that month is the busiest we have.

If the beds are badly overgrown, a yard cleanup comes first — mulch over neglect just hides it for a month. And beds hold their line far longer on properties we’re already visiting, which is why most mulch customers end up on weekly lawn care too.
