Patio Installation & Hardscaping in Atlanta
Hardscaping is the part of the yard you use rather than look at — a patio, a path to the door, steps that aren’t a hazard in the rain. We build them in Atlanta the way they last: excavated properly, on a compacted base, with the edges restrained.
Paver patios, built from the bottom up.
Excavate and grade, compacted crushed-stone base, filter fabric, sand bedding, pavers, polymeric sand in the joints, and a concrete edge restraint where it’s needed. The base is the whole job. A patio that sinks or lifts is a patio someone hurried, and you can’t fix it from the top.
Flagstone patio and walkway installation.
Tan and brown natural flagstone where a manufactured paver would look wrong — older houses in Druid Hills and Decatur especially. Grey natural stone treads for steps and staircases, cut and set so the rise stays even the whole way up.
Walkways and stepping stones.
A stone path from the drive to the spigot or the side gate is a small job that changes how a yard gets used. It’s usually the smallest line on any estimate we write and the one people mention afterwards.
Pergolas and fire pits.
A pressure-treated pergola on posts set over concrete footings, built to the span rather than to a kit. Fire pit kits with metal shields on a prepped base, sized to the seating you actually own.
How a project runs.
Someone walks the property and takes measurements, you get a written scope, and the work is scheduled as a block rather than squeezed between mowing routes. Bigger builds come with options at different budgets, so you’re choosing rather than accepting.
What goes in at the same time.
Grade changes want a retaining wall, and drainage always goes behind one. Once the patio is in, landscape lighting is what makes it usable after eight o’clock — and it’s far cheaper to run the wire before the surface goes down than after.
